Thanks to EVERYONE for coming and supporting cross and your love of the sport on Sunday!  It was exciting to see the racing from the Battle of the Bens in the Junior race, the champs - McMahon and Lopes in the 35+ and the Single Speed sprint finish with Paul and Geoff!  Thanks to the new racers trying out the sport for the first time!  Thanks to Buzz and Neil (our two astronaut announcers) for volunteering to call the day's races!  Thanks to our race sponsors, especially to Team Duke sponsor of the 35+ races, KreativeShots.com ENTER ID CODE:  longbeach  Check out the slideshow preview of yesterday's race - End of Season Sale: 2 for the price of 1 2008-09 CX season collection, and Energy Efficiency Solar for powering the day!

A very special thanks to Velo Allegro for hosting the event with enthusiasm and hard work pre-building the course all Saturday into the night (thanks to Frank for having the vision of this race along with his organiztional leadership, filling out the 36 page application and getting the approvals from the City of LB to host the event). Thanks to Jonathan Livesay who designed a super sweet CX course, bringing the hundreds of stakes, rebar, PVC and 24,000 feet of course tape... not racing, but hamming wind-blown stakes and fixing broken course tape despite a mending black eye and stiff neck!  Thanks to Jeff for setting up the barrier section and snow fencing around the sand-section... all after working all week, packing up the truck and trailer AND after just getting 12 stiches removed from his leg... ouch!  Thanks to the SoCalCross-Team CICLE-Team MBS crew (JL, Jeff, Tyler, Norberto & Sobe, Ken, Scott) for getting there at the waking hours to help set and and staying until every piece of course tape and trash were picked up!  Final and most appeciative thanks goes out to the City of Long Beach and rangers for approving and supporting the first ever cyclocross race at El Dorado Park!

Super special thanks to Sam Ames, his crew - inc. Jim Pappe, his family and the Kernwheelmen for an awesome Hart Park CX race in Bakersfield  SLO showed its style and affinity to have fun on the Central Coast!  Thanks to Shaba and SLO Nexxus for hosting the first cross race in SLO in over 20 years - the energy at these Cross Fever events was amazing!  Meeting so many new 'crossers was so much fun!

Don't miss your Last Chance (to) Cross for the next eight months, this Sunday, 1/25 hosted by Rock N Road Cyclery and CICLE... maybe some mud!!! Don't wimp out... mud and wet - the only one all 'Cross season... great way to finish the 2008-09 SoCal'Cross season!!!  Pre-Register at Sportsbase Online for your Last Chance to Win an Alpha Q Carbon Road Fork!  Also your last chance to support SoCalCross for your chance to win an Alpha Q CX20 ForkSRAM Rival Crankset, an SDG Saddle, a trip to Warner Springs Ranch AND, a super sweet Bailey O'Brien CX carbon/alum frame!!!

Good luck to R. Lee Wilmore (Celo Pacific) and Bob Llamas (Montrose Bike Shop) who are currently on their way to Belgium to compete at the UCI World Masters CX Championships on Jan 24th... go, go, go guys!!!

Well wishes to Brent Prenzlow who was injured during a training ride... he is done for the rest of  the CX season, but rumor has it he is mending well... and is still leading the 35+ and elite men's Cross Fever Overall Standings.  Hope you can make it to the CX World's party!!!
