On Saturday 11.22, Race 8 of the SoCalCross Prestige Series: Cross Religion and WCCC hosted by UC Irvine Cycling and Bike Religion makes its way to Camp James at Oak Canyon Park beyond Irvine Lake and will feature all the normal categories as racers vie for overall Prestige Series points and get a feel for the race course used on Sunday's SCNCA district championships, the day will also tack on five new collegiate categories! Running alongside USCF SoCalCross Prestige Series categories, Collegiate Men's and Women's A and B and a singlespeed category will be vying for WCCC cyclocross pride. This is the first collegiate cyclocross race ever in Southern California, so come out and be a part of history!

Sunday, 11.23... The day offers something for everyone.  The early morning features Eco-Sportfest '08 5k 'cross country (XC) 5k run at 8:00AM on the cyclocross (CX) championship course.  Runners will do two laps totalling the 5k distance - the course is a mixture of pavement, dirt, grass and sand with a couple of obstacles in between.  Beginner cyclocross clinics will be available to runners.new racers before the racing begins.  

At 9:30am, Team Velocity hosts Race 9 of the SoCalCross Prestige Series also the 2008-09 SCNCA CX District Championships, including a full day of elite, masters, junior championship categories.  Non-championship CX categories are offered throughout the day.  Demo CX bikes available from Specialized, Jamis and the SCNCA provides Juniors demo bikes by Redline.  Don't miss any of the action as racers speed around this tight and technical course, run up the SRAM "stairway to heaven" hill of pain, try to stay upright through the loose turns on the Fluid volleyball "sand" pit and keep it smooth over the Clif Bar barriers.  Don't miss this action-packed weekend!

Races will be run for the most part as part of the series as you will be scored for BOTH the Prestige Series and the Championship race.
Please make sure you are registered in the proper race category for the championship events.

You must have a USA Cycling license and resident of the SoCal/Nevada Cycling region to be eligible for Championship medals.  But you can race otherwise for Prestige Series prizes.  Juniors and Masters Categories... CX racing age is that of 12.31.2009 

There are also non-championship races being offered on Sunday.  Men 3/4, Master Men 35+ 3/4, True Beginner CX 4... and of course the kids race.
